Guess what I found waiting for me when I returned to Portland this week????
Aren’t they glorious? I’m always impressed at how PRETTY and MAGICAL Advance Reading Copies (a.k.a ARCS or galleys) are. These make it look like serious stuff is about to go down, possibly all over my bedroom (which is where I took this picture).
Three of these are for blog giveaways. (Another is for a goodreads giveaway, which I’ll set up next year, and the last I should probably keep for reference–at least for a little while.)
BUT the FIRST Of Sorcery and Snow giveaway begins today. WOOHOO!!!
It’s easy to enter. In the comments, just answer this question: What magical creature or villain or fairy tale creeped you out the most? Then enter your name and your email in the rafflecopter widget below.
To get us started, I’ll answer it once for me, and once for Rory. 🙂
Personally, the Dementors we first met in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban freak me out the VERY most. The whole concept of the Dementor’s Kiss…. *shudders* This is one of many reasons why J. K. Rowling is my hero.
Now, for Rory…. Because I’ve already revealed the flap copy, which SPECIFICALLY mentions that this Tale happens in Of Sorcery and Snow, this isn’t too much of a spoiler: “The Pied Piper” has always creeped Rory out. Not so much the Pied Piper the PERSON, but the Tale. It IS a creepy Tale. The kids are kidnapped and NEVER SEEN AGAIN. A whole town’s full of kids!
Now it’s your turn! Creepiest magical creature/villain/fairy tale–what do you think?
ETA: Just to be completely clear, I’m only giving away ONE copy this month! I’ll do two more giveaways like this before, June!
I’ll close the giveaway at midnight PST on Sunday, December 22, and then I’ll announce the winner on Monday, December 23. (Hopefully, I’ll get it in the mail around the same time, so that the winner can get a chance to read it before everyone has to go back to school. :-D)
